Choosing your Wedding Invitation Paper Type on Zazzle

One of the most common questions I get from brides who are considering ordering one of my invitation designs on Zazzle is "What's the difference in the paper types?"

Almost all of my designs are set to default to the Signature:Matte paper type, which is the one of the least expensive options, and is a smooth matte finish. But you can also upgrade to a variety of premium paper types that have different textures, paper thickness and sheen finishes. Some of the premium paper are also available in a variety of colors also.

My FAVORITE paper type is the Artisan: Felt White paper.

1. Signature: Semi-Gloss:  A crisp smooth paper designed for photo printing with the optimal color vibrancy. 40% post-consumer content. 110lb, 12.5 point thickness. I like to think of this as "card-stock" paper, but with a semi-gloss finish.

2. Signature: Matte:  The most popular paper choice, Matte’s eggshell texture is soft to the touch with a smooth finish that provides the perfect backdrop for your chosen designs. 120lb, 17 point thickness. Slightly thicker than the semi-gloss, but with a matte finish.

3. Signature: Ultra-Thick: (only available in the 5x7 size): The ultra-premium selection, this triple-thick, hand-pressed paper is suitable for your biggest events and most special occasions. Available on select sizes. 360lb, 42 point thickness. (may require additional postage)

4. Traditional: Laid:  Featuring a richly crafted ribbed texture from the art of watermarking, this paper boasts unparalleled craftsmanship with a bespoke look and feel. 30% post-consumer content. 100lb, 16.5 point thickness.

5. Traditional: Linen -   A superbly elegant paper for traditional weddings and special occasions. The beautiful texture of embossed linen creates a subtle, yet perfectly timeless impression. 100lb, 12.5 point thickness.

6. Traditional: Columned - Traditional: ColumnedA true classic, this premium weight paper features a horizontal fine columned texture crafted from a sustainable cotton-blend. 110lb, 15.2 point thickness.

7. Artisan: Felt White - (My Personal Favorite!) A thick and textured bright paper with an embossed woven finish. Designed with a velvety feel and brilliant white color. Made with 100% wind powered electricity. 110lb, 16.6 point thickness
